Advertising Design Study
This design study was intended to develop an advertising campaign that generated buyer awareness and boosted sales for the existing company, The Beard Club. The Beard Club’s products solve one of the following two problems for their consumers: lack of facial hair growth, and maintaining unruly facial hair. Two slogans were featured in this campaign including, “Tame Your Mane” and “Skip the Patch.” Tame Your Mane targets the audience that has a plethora of facial hair and is searching for a way to easily maintain and style it. By using the word “mane,” this slogan taps into how wild hair can be if not styled properly. Skip The Patch targets those who are looking to improve and stimulate their facial hair growth.
This project was awarded a bronze pin in the S21 - Consumer Campaign category in 2021 by AdFed Minnesota.

These ads are designed to be featured in top magazines such as Men’s Health, Esquire, and Men’s Fitness. Each print ad each features one of the two slogans associated with this campaign.

This spread features a clear vellum sheet with the mustache printed on it. The mustache initially hides the word “mane” on the second page but folds over to place the facial hair on the model!

Social Media Integration
Our world pivots on social media. Brands often succeed when they have a strong presence on leading platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, and Snapchat. Reaching millions of people every day.
This augmented reality filter was created on Lens Studio by Snapchat and is fully functional in the app. It allows users to wear the beard and share the brand with their friends.
This ad features TikTok’s most popular dances/trends while telling the story that it’s possible to grow a great beard with the help of The Beard Club. It is intended to appear on the “For You” page and the “Discover” page.
Indoor Ads
Interactive Indoor Ad
This interactive ad allows passersby to take a photo and share it on their social media. The user simply sets their phone up on the tripod located in front of the ad, lines their face up on the plexiglass, and says “cheese.” They can proceed to share the image on their social media with the hashtag #tameyourmane for a chance to win a free starter kit.
Not only is this a fun way to interact with the ads by “trying on” an eccentric beard, but the user creates more brand awareness by sharing it on their social media.

Printed Billboard
This outdoor billboard is to be installed on the outside of a city building, especially one with a large amount of foot traffic. Those walking by can take a snapchat using the Augmented Reality Snapchat filter (see above) and use the hashtag #TameYourMane to be automatically featured on the billboard.
This printed billboard is most likely to appear near the subway, a billboard on the side of a highway, or outside a shopping center.
